What I Offer
I offer weekly sessions of 50 minutes either in person at Kingsclere Village Club, online or by telephone. This may be either long or short term, depending on your needs and wishes.
The relationship between us is at the centre of my work, my experience has consolidated how I facilitate this in a safe, supporting, and non-judgemental way. Giving you a calm, safe space to talk about your difficulties and experiences, at a pace to suit you.
Working as an Integrative Counsellor, my main underlying philosophy is Gestalt. This is a holistic approach, looking at how your past influences the present. This can raise awareness of the underlying causes of your automatic responses and feelings, allowing a deeper insight and an ability to think and respond differently.
I also use other theories that link well with Gestalt, including Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.
Therapy provides immediate support and the possibility of long-lasting change through a greater understanding of yourself.
Who Benefits
People with long or short standing emotional problems stemming from difficult or traumatic experiences.
These may show as life feeling a struggle, thoughts and feelings becoming overwhelming, or simply you ‘don’t feel yourself' at the moment. This can lead to stress, anxiety and/or depression, or an inability to cope. Effective management of day to day life and relationships with others can become a struggle. This may be for an isolated incident such as a bereavement or long-term thoughts/feelings/experiences or anything in-between.
